As I could not complete my fab academy back in 2018, I had few weeks assignments due so this year, I am completing it. I already did a final Project back in 2018 but due to lost of video, My local instructor suggested me to make another one and I had only 10 days before the final project presentation as most of my time was occupied with my startup so I decided to do a very simple curtain pulling machine
Problem Statement
I recently on my entrepreneurial journey had bumped in the issues of oversleeping as I have blacked out curtains in my room and most time, I am just too stressed and lazy to open the curtain, I always wondered if I could have a system that will help automatically open the curtains in the morning so for this final project i decided to build something that will help me with the types of curtain I had in the room. This was the first home automization project I am working on.
Inspirations
I browsed online for lots of ideas, with the limited resources I had access to, I decided to 3D print gears and make a gear and pully system with a geared DC motor powering the Curtain and and LDR sensor to open the curtain when it's day and close when it's night. I wanted to use ESP32 board for provision of connectivty to internet later on.
